Teaching Assistant (Maternity / Paternity Cover)

Required as soon as possible. 

Grade 3 £18,933 – £21,748 pro rata (£13,681 – £15,716 pa) dependent on external funding*

Full time (term time only plus 5 PD days) – 31.5 hpw, 39 weeks per year. Monday – Friday, 8.45am – 3.15pm, plus 1 hour for mandatory staff training each week (Monday 3.15pm – 4.15pm) and half hour each week for class team meeting (Thursday 3.15pm – 3.45pm).

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant as maternity cover to work in our provisions for pupils with more challenging behaviours.

We have an approach based upon SCERTS that uses a therapeutic approach to teaching children to self-regulate themselves. Pupils can display significant levels of challenging behaviour and we use a very intensive support programme to develop alternative communication strategies to reduce those behaviours that restrict their social interaction. As part of a team, you will need to be enthusiastic, creative as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun.  Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach.

MPR/UPR + SEN Full time, permanent

Required from April 2021 (or as soon as possible)

Riverwalk is part of the Believe Engage Succeed Academy Trust working in a purpose-built school building with a new engaging curriculum.

Due to a rising level of need we have been commissioned to increase in size by a further 4 class groups.  We will be phasing in this increase over the next 2 years. As a member of our dedicated teaching team, you will play a key role in the education of our students each of whom has an individual Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). With that in mind, we are looking to recruit lively dynamic team members to join the growing school.

If you have experience in SEN teaching, possess a commitment to support our learners and are passionate about ensuring the highest quality learning for children with Complex Needs and Severe Learning Difficulties we would welcome your application.

We are looking for teachers: –

  • to work across our full age group of 3-19 years.
  • who can teach within our 3 developmental pathways
  • who are experienced and enthusiastic when working with students with SEND

Midday Supervisor (1 post)

Grade 2 £17,364 – £18,426 pro rata (actual Salary: £9 p/h)

1 post – 6 hours per week, Mondays and Tuesdays, 39 weeks per year (3 hours per day between the hours of 10:00am – 2:00pm to suit the needs of the class) based at Mayfield Road.

Required asap, term-time only (plus 5 PD Days for training) to work across the school. The post involves supervising and supporting children in the dining hall and engaging and playing with children outdoors at lunchtime, ensuring a safe, caring and playful environment.

Riverwalk is a 3-19 school for pupils with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties.
