A Fun-Filled Adventure at Our New Allotment Site for our DofE Volunteering Section! Today we took our very first trip our new local allotment site in walking distance from the school - and what an adventure it turned out to be! The moment we arrived, we got straight to work building even more bug hotels. From twigs, leaves and bark, we used all sorts of natural materials to create cosy hideaways for our tiny garden neighbours. But it wasn't all hard work... Somehow, we ended up inside the wheelbarrows, and yes, it was every bit as fun as it sounds! We also learned a lot about what it really takes to grow plants. It turns out it's not just popping a seed into soil, there's watering, weeding, digging, "patience... and even more patience." Everyone left with a new appreciation for the gardeners who keep things growing all year round. And just when we thought our adventure was over, we stumbled across a park on our walk back to school! Naturally, we couldn't resist stopping for a quick run around before heading back with muddy boots, tired legs, and huge smiles. It was a day full of learning, exploring, and heaps of fun. We can't wait to visit the allotment again soon! Thank you to Bradley and Julie for all your continued support.

WE'RE HIRING TEACHING ASSISTANTS! Our wonderful school is looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants who are passionate about helping students learn, grow, and achieve their goals. If you enjoy supporting communication, developing learning skills, adapting activities, and celebrating progress every day, you'll fit right in! Come and join a team that values creativity, patience, and meaningful education.

GARDENING CLUB It was a pleasure to welcome Bradley Smith from Bury Town Council again on Wednesday to work alongside our Gardening Club. During our meeting we planted violas in the hanging baskets and cleared some flower beds ready for planting with sunflower seeds next week. The students were all very enthusiastic and thoroughly enjoyed themselves participating in the activities. We have already half-filled our compost bin! Bradley is coming to work with some of our students on repairing and bringing back to life our fruit cage. This will make a big difference to our garden area. We would also like to say a big thank you to Mr Dave Ebbons from D Metal Services who has very kindly donated gardening gloves for the students.

We had such a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day! Everyone looked fantastic dressed up as their favourite book characters, and it was so much fun sharing and reading some of our favourite stories together! A big thank you to Kate and Mel for bringing the fun dinner time once again Their yummy cakes were a huge hit, and the fantastic decorations made everything feel extra special What a lovely day filled with stories, creativity, and treats!

Double the Fun at School Today! What's better than one tractor? TWO huge tractors! Our students were absolutely thrilled to welcome not one but two amazing tractors back to school yesterday. There were lots of excited faces as the children climbed up into the cabs, sat up high in the driver's seat, and imagined themselves out in the fields. Some curious explorers even managed to find the horn... which definitely added to the excitement! A huge thank you to Amy Hyde Parker for kindly arranging this fantastic experience for our students. It's safe to say it was a highlight of the day and a visit they'll be talking about for a long time!

World Book Day – Thursday 5th March 2026! Get ready to celebrate the magic of reading! This Thursday, 5th March 2026, we invite all students to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and join in the fun. Whether it's a courageous hero, a mischievous villain, or a beloved storybook classic, we can't wait to see your creativity shine! A contribution of £1 donation would be great with proceeds going towards promoting reading initiatives in school. Let's make this a fantastic day filled with imagination, colour, and the joy of books!

RIVERWALK STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council held a meeting on 12th February. On the Agenda was the new school Gardening Club. The Club will support the Trust's bio-diversity initiative. The Council members had the very important role of deciding the name and logo for the Club. All Council members were asked to talk to their friends in class to find out which name and logo they liked best so they could attend the meeting and vote on behalf of everyone. Student Council was very excited to welcome our special guest Bradley Smith from Bury Town Council. He has very kindly agreed to support the new Gardening Club and has already come up with lots of ideas, a plan for the new garden area and donated hanging baskets and compost. Gardening Club is being held on Wednesday afternoons and our first job will be to fill, plant and hang the baskets and we are pleased that Bradley is happy to join our first meeting. As the Club will be entering into the Trust's Blooming Marvellous completion and Bury in Bloom they will have a very busy year! The name chosen by Student Council is RIVERWALK ROOTS and its logo is attached.
